Christian Racicot
CEO
Christian Racicot is the founder and CEO of the Institutional Investors Roundtable (IIR) >>, where he also sits on the Board of Directors. Created in 2011, the IIR is a not-for-profit, independent, apolitical and by-invitation-only platform for the world’s leading global asset owners (mainly pension plans and sovereign wealth funds) to identify and collaborate on private market investment opportunities and challenges of strategic importance for them.
He is also the founding CEO of the Long Term Investment Organization (LTIO) >>, a not-for-profit, independent and apolitical organization created on the initiative of the IIR whose mission is to foster collaboration among global asset owners, national governments, philanthropic organizations and other non-commercial organizations around investment strategies essential to long-term sustainable economic development that require the support of large-scale, long-term capital. Prior to establishing the IIR and LTIO, Christian was a partner at BCF LLP, a leading law firm based in Montreal and Quebec City of which he founded the Quebec City branch in 2001 and where he was specializing in commercial and corporate law. Christian was admitted to the Bar of the province of Quebec in 1985. He also received a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario, Canada) in 1989.
Gordon Hagart
Head of Content, FIRCAP
Gordon, who is based in Switzerland, is an independent investment consultant and Special Advisor to the Institutional Investors Roundtable (IIR) >> and the Long Term Investment Organization (LTIO) >>. His particular focus at IIR/LTIO is on running FIRCAP, a platform and community through which asset owners collaborate to improve the performance of their externally-managed private markets investments.
Gordon has extensive experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on corporate and investment governance. He was formerly CEO of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI), based in Melbourne. ACSI provides governance research and ownership services to Australian and international pension funds managing more than $1.8 trillion on behalf of 18 million fund members.
Prior to leading ACSI, Gordon was Head of ESG Risk Management at the Future Fund, the Australian Government’s $275 billion sovereign wealth fund. His other experience includes working for the United Nations Environment Programme in Geneva, where he played a key role in creating the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment. Gordon was also employed as an investment consultant in Zurich, and as an investment banking analyst with Greenhill & Co. in London.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in geophysics from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Gilles Duruflé
Head of Content, IIR
Gilles Duruflé is presently Content Director for the Institutional Investors Roundtable (IIR). He was until 2019 Executive Vice President of the QCC and President of the TIP Ecosystem Building Forum (formerly Public Policy Forum on Venture Capital and Innovation). He was until 2004 Senior Partner at CDP Capital Technology Ventures, the venture capital subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, in charge of the Funds of Funds portfolio, investing in North American and European VC funds. He was previously Head of strategic studies at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. From 1979 to 1991, he worked as Senior Partner in strategic consulting firms in the CDC Group (Caisse des dépôts et consignations, Paris) in Africa, Europe and North America. He sits on the Board of the Quebec City Conference. Dr Duruflé obtained his Masters in Philosophy from the CERP (Paris), his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Paris VI University and the Diploma of the Centre d’Études des Programmes Économiques (Ministry of Finance, Paris). He is a CFA and has published numerous books and articles on various subjects related to economics and finance.
